Meta is moving on from more crypto projects, even though NFTs / digital collectibles were once pitched as part of its ‘metaverse’ future: "We’re winding down digital collectibles (NFTs) for now to focus on other ways to support creators, people, and businesses”

The NFT market sees a low resurrection in January 2023, even though the $780 million of sales seen last month is a fraction of the roughly $5 billion seen last January and $2.7 billion in May, before the market took a non-fungible nosedive along with much of the crypto world.

Are publishers backing away from NFTs because they don't see value in them, or because they get ruthlessly mocked online every time they talk about them? No matter why - it‘s good they did.
