Introducing Broadcast Channels on Instagram
Channels offer a new way for Creators to deepen connections with followers. Channels support text, images, polls, reactions, etc, and soon will support collabs with guest appearances, AMAs and more. Initially rolled out on Instagram now, Channels will also be available in Messenger and Facebook in coming months. At the moment the feature is a test and is only available for chosen Influencers, such as Mark Zuckerberg himself.
For the moment, only Follower of an account can follow the Channel. In Germany it also seems like the feature is not available yet - or it depends on the version of the Instagram App - as it (for me) says, the feature is not available yet & I can't access the channel.
