Elon Musk drove more than a million people to Mastodon – but the platform has a problem to hold them all

Active users on the Mastodon social network has dropped more than 30% since the peak and is continuing a slow decline - but still, the network is strong. The number of active users on Mastodon dropped from a peak of over 2.5M in early December 2022 to about 1.8M in the first week of January 2023.
